Katharina von Schwarzburg-Blankenburg (* after 1470; † November 27, 1514 ) was the wife of Count Reinhard IV. Von Hanau-Münzenberg (* March 14, 1473; † January 30, 1512).

She was a daughter of Günther XXXVIII. von Schwarzburg-Blankenburg (* 1450; † 1484) and Katharina von Querfurt († 1521).

Katharina and Reinhard married on February 13, 1496. As a dowry, the bride received the share of the pledge for the imperial city of Gelnhausen held by the Counts of Schwarzburg, plus 4,000 guilders . With this stake in Gelnhausen, the Counts of Hanau acquired an important base in the Kinzig Valley , which connected the “Upper Counties” around Schlüchtern and Steinau an der Straße and the “Lower Counties” around Hanau . Katharina and Reinhard had four children:

  1. Anna (* May 22, 1498; † the same year)
  2. Berthold (* July 12, 1499; † April 27, 1504), buried in the choir of the Marienkirche in Hanau
  3. Philip II (1501-1529)
  4. Balthasar (1508–1534)

Katharina is shown on the northeast cheek of the choir stalls in the Marienkirche in Hanau , the opposite shows her husband.

After her death she was buried in the Marienkirche in Hanau.
