Signpost at the Katharinenbild

Katharinenbild describes a crossroads on a saddle (415 meters above sea level ) between the Lehngrund , a side valley of the Lohr valley and the Sindersbach valley 5.4 km southeast of the Eichenberg . The only publicly drivable, but unpaved road leads over this saddle from the district of Ruppertshütten to the center of Lohr within the urban area. The Obersee of the Langenprozelten pumped storage power station is about one kilometer from the Katharinenbild ; it can be reached on foot via a hiking trail that is marked with a red fox and offers a view of the Rhön, which is rare in the Spessart . The Katharinen picture is referred to in the Pfinzing map as Groß Erleporn after a contained spring (today Big Erlenbrunnen ) nearby. 1872 was sign of cast iron Company Rexroth set with deer horns. The latter have disappeared for the third time. In 1936 a refuge was built.
