Kathleen Byron

Kathleen Byron (* 11. January 1921 in London as Kathleen Elizabeth Fell , † 18th January 2009 in London Borough of Hillingdon , England , UK) was a British film actress .

Life

Before Byron made her film debut in 1938, she studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School . She moved to Hollywood in the 1940s and 1950s and starred alongside stars like Tyrone Power , David Niven , Stewart Granger and Jean Simmons .

One of her best known roles was the neurotic nun Sister Ruth in the British drama Black Narcissus ( Black Narcissus , 1947) with Deborah Kerr . In addition to her film work, she also appeared in numerous television productions.

Byron was married twice and had three children.
