Ewald Samsche

Ewald Samsche (born January 31, 1913 in Hamburg ; † May 31, 1975 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Ewald Samsche attended school in Hamburg and the boarding high school in Bad Sachsa and graduated with secondary school leaving certificate . This was followed by an apprenticeship as a businessman at a Hamburg import company. He quickly went into business for himself and was based in London from 1932 to 1939. Because of the outbreak of the Second World War , he left England and returned to Germany. He was involved in the war as an air force soldier.

After the end of the Nazi regime , he went into business again. He specialized in the import of fruits.

politics

Samsche joined the CDU in 1946 and was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1949 to 1957 and was also a deputy to the tax authorities.

In 1953 he took over three departments in the Hamburg Senate block under Kurt Sieveking . Until December 15, 1955, he was the senator of the health authority, from December 15, 1954 he was responsible for the building authority together with Josef von Fisenne and was a senator of the labor authority throughout.

In 1949 he was active as an election campaign manager for the Vaterstädtischer Bund and four years later for the Hamburg block . The SPD always attacked him sharply, because this was also his way of leading the election campaign against the Social Democrats.
