Jutta Blankau

Jutta Blankau-Rosenfeldt (born November 4, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ). From March 23, 2011 to April 2015, she was Senator for Urban Development and the Environment in Senate Scholz I in Hamburg.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1975 at the Harburg Business School , Blankau initially trained as an insurance clerk and then studied history, politics and law at the University of Hamburg from 1977 to 1988 . During her studies, she joined the SPD in 1979 and was chairwoman of the AStA as a member of the Juso university group at the university in the same year .

After the legal state examination and a short-term position as legal protection secretary at the DGB in Lübeck, Blankau worked from 1988 to 2005 as district secretary of the IG Metall Coast with a focus on tariff policy . In 2005 she was elected district manager of IG Metall coast and held this office until she was elected to the Hamburg Senate. In this function she represented IG Metall on the supervisory boards of several large companies, including a. by Airbus Operations GmbH and Daimler Luft- und Raumfahrttholding AG .

From 2002 to 2006 she was also deputy state chairwoman of the SPD Hamburg.

In June 2017 she was elected chairwoman of the supervisory board of DGB Rechtsschutz GmbH and on September 19, 2017, she was also elected honorary state chairman of AWO Hamburg.

Jutta Blankau is married to the Hamburg parliamentarian Jenspeter Rosenfeldt and has one daughter.
