Gerhard Neuenkirch

Gerhard Neuenkirch (born July 9, 1906 in Berlin ; † May 24, 1990 ) was a German manager and politician ( SPD ).

biography

Gerhard Neuenkirch completed a banking apprenticeship and then an administration apprenticeship with the city of Berlin. He had been a member of the SPD since 1926. After the National Socialists came to power, he had to leave the civil service and found a position in the private sector in Hamburg.

From 1946 to 1955 he was a member of the Hamburg parliament . There he held office from 1946 to 1949 as deputy parliamentary group leader and from 1949 to 1950 as parliamentary group leader for his party.

In the Brauer II Senate from 1950 he headed the labor authority as president and from 1951 also the social welfare authority. After leaving the citizenry, he worked in the management of cooperative banks.

In 1966 he received the plaque of honor from the city of Frankfurt am Main .
