Holger Christier

Holger Christier (born April 12, 1948 in Hamburg ) is a German SPD politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school, Holger Christier studied German and history at the University of Hamburg to become a teacher. The study he completed with two state examination and was followed by a 1975 promotion to Dr. phil. He wrote his dissertation on the politics of the SPD and the KPD in the post-war period . He entered as a teacher in the teaching profession and was later appointed senior teacher.

From 1975 to 1982, Holger Christier was represented in the core area committee and in the district assembly in Hamburg-Mitte .

From June 1982 to 2004 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . There he sat for his group on the submissions committee, the committee on schools, youth and vocational training, the constitutional committee and the committee on home affairs and the civil service.

In the 16th electoral term (1997 to 2001) he was parliamentary group leader of the SPD. In this position he was not always undisputed.
