Who stole our dinosaur? is a British-American children's film directed by Robert Stevenson from the year 1975 . It is based on the novel The Great Dinosaur Robbery , which was written in 1970 by David Eliades and Robert Forrest Webb under the pen name David Forrest .

action

British entrepreneur Lord Southmere returns to London from China. Since he is being followed, he hides a microfilm in a dinosaur skeleton in the Natural History Museum. Shortly afterwards he is arrested by the Chinese agents under Hnup Wan, but before that he reports to his former nanny Hettie. Believing that the microfilm is secret espionage material, a race between the nannies and the Chinese starts, and the dinosaur is even stolen (actually by the Chinese, but the nannies take it over). In the end it becomes apparent not only that the wrong dinosaur was kidnapped (the museum has two), but also that the microfilm only contains a recipe for the Empress mother's wonton soup. Southmere and the head of the Chinese secret police in London team up and market it in England, it becomes a great success.

Reviews

"A reasonably entertaining crime comedy, the jokes of which, however, drag on and are exhausted in mostly silly slapstick gags."
