Lucy Griffiths (born April 24, 1919 in Birley , Herefordshire , England , † September 29, 1982 in London ) was a British actress .

Life

Griffiths made her television debut in 1952 on an episode of the BBC series Wednesday Theater . Her film debut followed the following year in Michael Anderson's comedy Hypnosis please ...? alongside Jon Pertwee and William Hartnell . In 1955 she appeared in the classic comedy Ladykillers as Miss Pringle . Between 1959 and 1975 she worked on eight films in the carry-on film series and the comedy associated with the series Nurse on Wheels . Griffiths starred in small roles in three of the four Miss Marple film adaptations with Margaret Rutherford . She also played in the hammer films Frankenstein's Hell Monster alongside Peter Cushing and Schlag 12 in London at the side of Christopher Lee . In addition to her 40 film roles in three decades, she also appeared in numerous television series, including two episodes of cult series number 6 , five episodes of Task Force Police , and two episodes of The Doctor and the Dear Cattle .
