Kathleen Sky

Kathleen Sky (born Kathleen Mckinney on August 5, 1943 in Alhambra , California ) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer.

Life

After graduating, Sky worked for a children's hairdresser in Pasadena from 1964 to 1971 and then volunteered for Humane Society in Pasadena. Her first story, One Ordinary Day, with Box , appeared in 1972 in the anthology Generation, edited by David Gerrold . At that time she still had the name Kathleen Mckinney Sky from a first marriage with Karl Sky. In 1972 she married the writer Stephen Goldin , with whom she wrote The Business of Being a Writer (1982). In 1982 the marriage was divorced.

In 1975 her debut novel Birthright was published , which deals with the question of how to distinguish between people and androids in a world where genetic manipulation has become commonplace. She also wrote two tie-ins for the original Starship Enterprise series .
