Catholic parish church of the Holy Trinity in Weppersdorf

The Roman Catholic parish church of Weppersdorf is located at the northern end of Weppersdorf in the market town of Weppersdorf in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the Dean's Office Deutschkreutz in the Diocese of Eisenstadt . The church is a listed building .

history

The parish has existed since the 13th century and was evangelical at times.

The church was built in the 14th century, rebuilt in 1753, and restored between 1972 and 1974. In 1973 Gothic windows and a late Gothic pointed arch portal were uncovered.

architecture

The nave, which has been redesigned in Baroque style, has a retracted Gothic choir . The two-storey church tower has an octagonal pyramid spire made of stones.

Furnishing

In the choir there is a stone figure of St. Johannes Nepomuk from the 18th century. The font with the cherub's head is also from the 18th century. The high altar, side altar, pulpit and organ in historicizing style are from 1902.

In 2005 the exterior of the church was renovated and a tower clock was installed.
