Kathrin Menges (born October 16, 1964 in Pritzwalk ) is a German manager . From October 2011 to April 2019 she was Chief Human Resources Officer of the Henkel Group .

Study and professional development

Kathrin Menges passed her Abitur in 1983 at the Extended Oberschule (EOS) of the Goetheschule II in Pritzwalk. In the same year she started her studies at the Pedagogical University in Potsdam . Her main subjects were English and Russian. She obtained the academic degree of diploma teacher in 1988 . In the following two years she worked as a teacher .

In 1990 Menges switched to the human resources department of commercial companies. She initially worked for Bankgesellschaft Berlin until 1999 , where she was promoted to Head of Human Resources. She then took on various senior management positions in human resources at various subsidiaries of the Henkel Group. In October 2011 she became a member of the Henkel Executive Board responsible for human resources; the area was expanded to include infrastructure services in April 2012. Menges was appointed to the HR board for the first time, as the HR department had previously been jointly responsible for the chairman of the board.

Menges was the company's first female board member. In addition, she was the first woman from the territory of the former GDR to hold a board position in a DAX company .

Private

Menges is married and has no children. Her hobbies are jogging and swimming.
