Simone Bagel-Trah (born January 10, 1969 in Düsseldorf ) is the chairwoman of the supervisory board and chairwoman of the shareholders' committee of the Henkel group .

Life

Bagel-Trah is a great-great-granddaughter of the Henkel founder Fritz Henkel . In 1988 she passed her Abitur at the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf . From 1988 to 1993 she studied biology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn . In 1998 she received her PhD. From 1998 to 2000 she worked as a freelance consultant for project management in the field of microbiology and pharmacy . In 2000 she became managing partner of Antiinfectives Intelligence GmbH in Rheinbach . She is a founding member of the University Council of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, which has existed since December 6, 2007 .

Bagel-Trah has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA since April 30, 2001 . From April 14, 2008 she was its deputy chairman. On September 22nd, 2009 she took over the chairmanship and is the first and as of January 2020 only woman in this position in a DAX -30 company. At the same time, she also took over the chairmanship of the Shareholders' Committee, which, in addition to non-family managers, also includes five Henkel heirs, and which bundles the interests of the three Henkel family lines. She has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Bayer AG since April 29, 2014 .

Simone Bagel-Trah is a daughter of Fritz Bagel and Anja Bohlan.

Her father Fritz Bagel is a son of Carl August Bagel (born June 9, 1902 in Düsseldorf; † July 13, 1941 ibid) and Ilse Elisabeth Henkel (born July 24, 1908 in Düsseldorf; † October 24, 1991 ibid).

Her mother Anja Bohlan (married name Bagel-Bohlan) is an economist and publishes books on sexual morality in the 19th and 20th centuries and Hitler's industrial preparations for war. She is involved with the Salomon Ludwig Steinheim Institute for German-Jewish History.

Simone Bagel-Trah is married to Christoph Trah (* 1966) and has two children.
