Kathrin Schmack

Kathrin Schmack (* 1964 in Bonn ) is a German interior designer and former rowing athlete .

Rowing

In 1987 Schmack took part in the rowing world championships in Copenhagen as a substitute rower with the German team . In 1988 she won for the Heidelberg rowing club at the German championships in the lightweight foursome. At the 1988 World Championships , she won the bronze medal in the lightweight foursome without a helmsman together with Christiane Zimmer , Sonja Petri and Claudia Engels . On November 20, 2011, Kathrin Schmack was appointed to the board of the Germania Dusseldorf rowing club as head of the competitive sports division.

Interior design

From 1984 to 1991 Schmack studied interior design in Detmold and Düsseldorf . After completing her studies, she initially worked with various international architects. In 1995 she started her freelance work as an interior designer and planning manager in her own company, Genius Loci Baukultur .

In 1997 she received recognition as part of the German Interior Design Award.

In 2000 she got in contact with Yap Cheng Hai , one of the most important representatives of classical Feng Shui, and gained recognition as a Feng Shui master. Since then, the integration of Feng Shui has played an essential role in her work.

Today Schmack is a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects , a board member of the Association of German Architects (VDA) North Rhine-Westphalia and a member of the Düsseldorf Entrepreneurs Network . She is the owner of the building submission authorization from the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Detmold. She is an assessor at the OVG Münster for architecture.

Public projects included the interior design planning of the representative areas of the Essen University Hospital in 2009 and the redesign of the Düsseldorf theater in 2006.
