Kathrin Standhardinger (born June 7, 1990 in Munich ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Kathrin Standhardinger started her volleyball career at FTM Blumenau together with her twin sister Kristin . After moving to TS Jahn Munich to coach Anke Elwassimy, her daughter Mona and the two twins took third place at the 2002 E-youth national game festival. The Munich club was able to repeat this success in the following year at the German D youth championships in Nordhorn . The young women of TS Jahn achieved the third Bavarian championship title in a row in 2004 as a C-youth, at the national championships they came eighth. Then he switched to SV Lohhof . In 2007 the bronze medal was achieved at the German U-21 championships, and the U-18 was even runner-up. At the same time, the three Munich women also played in the first women's team in the second Bundesliga. While Elwassimy switched to the first Bundesliga club Allianz Volley Stuttgart in 2008 , the twins stayed in Unterschleißheim and rose to the top German division with the SVL in the following season . The sisters did not experience the 2009/10 Bundesliga season, however, because they decided on a volleyball scholarship in the United States . As a student at Armstrong Atlantic State's University, Kathrin Standhardinger was voted Peach Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year, making her only the third volleyball player at her university to do so. In addition, the student became PBC Player of the week on October 5, 2009. Since the 2010/11 season, the Standhardingers have been playing for SV Lohhof again, but this time in the second team in the Regionalliga, as they will focus on their professional development.

Private

Kathrin and Kristin are the daughters of Elizabeth, a native of the Philippines , and Gunter Standhardinger. The one year older brother of the twins Christian plays basketball and also moved to the United States in 2009 to study and play further in the NCAA .
