Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Dahlkemper (born December 10, 1957 in Erie , Pennsylvania ) is an American politician . Between 2009 and 2011 she represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Kathleen Ann Steenberge, her maiden name, attended Edinboro State College in Pennsylvania until 1982 . For over 20 years she worked as a dietician in her home country. Since 1997 she has been co-owner of Dahlkemper Landscape Architechts and Contractors . She also became a director of the Pennsylvania Frontier Park Administration . There she was responsible for the trees. Politically, she became a member of the Democratic Party .

In the 2008 congressional election , Dahlkemper was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Pennsylvania , where she succeeded Republican Phil English on January 3, 2009 . Since it was not confirmed in 2010, it could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 2011 . She was a member of the Agriculture Committee , the Committee on Science and Technology and the Committee on Small Business and in five sub-committees.

Kathy Dahlkemper is married and has five grown children.
