Kathy Sambell

Kathy Sambell (actually Kathleen Veronica Sambell, nee Wright; born January 16, 1963 ) is a former Australian sprinter .

At the Athletics World Cup in Barcelona in 1989 , she was eighth over 400 m . In the 4-by-100-meter relay she was disqualified with the Oceania relay, in the 4-by-400-meter relay she came in sixth place.

In 1990 she won the Commonwealth Games in Auckland with the Australian 4 x 100 meter relay and was seventh over 200 m . Also with the Australian 4-by-100-meter relay she was eighth at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , sixth at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and won silver at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria.

In 1989 she became the Australian 100 yard champion .
