Kati Droste

Katrin "Kati" Droste (born December 26, 1984 in Dorsten ) is a German racing driver .

Career

Droste began her motorsport career in karting in 1996 . In 2003 she won the ADAC / DMV Interconti Kart Cup . At the end of the year she contested her first two car races as a guest starter in the Alfa 147 Cup . In 2004 she competed in the Mini Challenge for the entire season . She won the race on the Salzburgring and reached eighth place in the drivers' championship. In 2005 Droste moved to the Seat Leon Supercopa , in which she scored two points. In the same year she took part in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring for the first time. In a Mazda RX-8 , she was fourth in class and 55th overall. In addition, she had some appearances in the endurance championship Nürburgring and the Maserati Trophy . In 2006, she again took part in the Nürburgring endurance championship in a Seat Leon and took part in the 24-hour race with this vehicle. There she reached class third and 62nd overall. She also competed in the Dubai 24-hour race . In the 2007 season Droste first took part in two racing weekends in the Peugeot 207 Spider Cup . Then she returned to the German Seat Leon Supercopa. Her best race result was a fourth place in the twelfth race in Zandvoort . At the end of the season she finished 20th in the drivers' standings with 16 points. In 2008 Droste took part in the first two races of the Sports Car Challenge at the Nürburgring and reached the podium in both. Then she did not participate in any further races. At the end of the season she finished 14th in the drivers' championship with 48 points.

In 2011 she won the Porsche Sports Cup Endurance Championship together with Bertram Hornung .
