Katie Jacobs Stanton (born October 17, 1970 in New York ) is an American manager in the field of media and marketing.

Life

In 1987 she graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York.

Stanton then completed her Bachelor Accounts majoring in political science at Rhodes College in 1991 and received in 1995 her Master of International Affairs at the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University . After working as a product manager for Yahoo! Finance , she has worked at Google LLC since 2003, on the one hand at Google Moderator and on the other hand in the department of Google Finance and the Open Social Initiative.

In 2009, the former President of the United States, Barack Obama , appointed her as the newly created director for Citizen Participation. In January 2010 she became the Special Advisor Office of Innovation of the US State Department appointed where she used Twitter extensively. She was Vice President for International Strategy from July 2010 to July 2014 and then for Global Media at Twitter until January 2016 .

Stanton has been the Chief Marketing Officer of Color Genomics since 2016 . Stanton is also on the board of Vivendi and Time . She lives with her three children in San Francisco , California .
