Katja Hertin

Katja Hertin (born 1967 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and non-fiction author.

Life

Hertin studied German, history and art history at the Free University of Berlin . She completed her studies as a Magistra .

She completed her training as a journalist with an internship at Tagesspiegel and then worked there as an editor . For five years she was text editor and head of department at Cosmopolitan magazine , in 2005 she went to the women's magazine Freund (both Burda ). There she rose to become deputy editor-in-chief .

When Burda planned the women's magazine Donna as a girlfriend spin-off , which was initially published under the title Girlfriend Donna from 2010 to 2013 , Hertin and Ulrike Zeitlinger were on the development team. Zeitlinger was appointed editor-in-chief, Hertin became deputy editor-in-chief in 2011.

Zeitlinger left Burda for the Bild newspaper; Hertin took over as Donna Editor-in-Chief in January 2014 .

With the task of her own editorial team for Donna , she took over the position of deputy editor-in-chief within the Burda media group on the Focus online portal in January 2017 . She is responsible for the health, travel, knowledge and digital departments belonging to the advisory area. In addition, she should operate the further development of the portal.

With the move to the communications agency Avantgarde, Hertin is leaving journalism in early 2019. As Director of Storytelling, she strengthens the area of ​​strategic consulting in the agency that specializes in brand experiences.
