Katrin Adt

Katrin Adt (born May 8, 1972 in Bonn ) is a German manager and has been the head of the newly created Mercedes-Benz Cars Own Retail Europe division (cars and vans) at Daimler AG since July 2019 .

Life

Adt was born in 1972 as the daughter of the German diplomat and ambassador Harro Adt . She grew up in Afghanistan , India , Switzerland , the Central African Republic and France , among others . After graduating from high school in 1991, she studied law in Göttingen and Coimbra (Portugal). She completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court in Celle as well as in Frankfurt am Main and Brussels.

In 1999, Katrin Adt started her career at Daimler AG as an assistant to the then director of DaimlerChrysler in Belgium and Luxembourg , Annette Winkler (later her predecessor at smart). From 2002 to 2006 she was responsible for the dealer network development of the Daimler Group in Belgium and Luxembourg before moving to the corporate headquarters in Stuttgart in 2006 . There she was given responsibility for the global sales network strategy of the group. During this time she was responsible for the separation of the global sales networks of Daimler and Chrysler after the alliance ended in 2007 with the sale of the Chrysler Group . From 2009 she headed a project to realign Mercedes Benz sales worldwide .

From 2010 to 2013, Katrin Adt was CEO of Mercedes-Benz Luxembourg and was responsible for the wholesale, retail and service of Mercedes-Benz cars, commercial vehicles and buses with an organization of around 550 employees.

In 2013 she moved to the personnel consultancy Egon Zehnder in Stuttgart, before returning to Daimler in 2014 as Vice President HR Development & HR Services. Her area of ​​responsibility included looking after the Group's top management level, personnel development and executive qualification, expat management at Daimler AG and the nationwide HR shared service organization. In this position, Adt developed and was responsible for the company-wide transformation program “Leadership 2020”, with which Daimler is developing a new leadership culture and strengthening a flexible and innovative organization, thereby aligning itself for the future.

In June 2018, Daimler announced that Katrin Adt would take over the management of the smart product area from Annette Winkler. Since September of the same year, Katrin Adt has been managing smart. There she mainly designed the conversion of the car manufacturer to a supplier of exclusively electric cars .

In July 2019, Katrin Adt took over the management of the new Mercedes-Benz Cars Own Retail Europe division (cars and vans). The German and European parts of the Group's own distribution network (Own Retail) were merged. The aim is to bundle competencies across Europe and thereby position Own Retail even more strongly for the future. In her role, Adt reports to Britta Seeger , Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG , responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales.
