Katrin Hummel

Katrin Hummel (* 1968 in Ulm ) is a German journalist and author of several non-fiction books and novels.

Life

Katrin Hummel grew up in Harsewinkel . She studied French , geography and English in Strasbourg and Freiburg im Breisgau . In addition, she completed numerous internships and freelance jobs for newspapers, news agencies, radio and television. After the first state examination , she switched to the Berlin School of Journalism . In 1996 she started as a trainee at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . She later became an editor in the “Germany and the World” section. In 2007 she switched to FAZ.NET . Since 2012 she has been working as an editor in the “Life” section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung , primarily writing on socio-political issues. In 2015 she covered a scandal about the Bonn Youth Welfare Office and the private sponsor in the youth welfare organization Kleiner Muck e. V., which was subsequently picked up by other media.

In her book Gute Nacht, Liebster: Demenz , she told the story of her mother, who looked after Hummel's father , who was suffering from dementia, as a case of extreme care, from the outbreak of the disease to his death.

Katrin Hummel is married and has two children. She lives in Frankfurt .
