Kattenstroth-Spexard

Kattenstroth-Spexard was a municipality in the Westphalian district of Wiedenbrück . She belonged to the Reckenberg office . Today the former municipality belongs to the city of Gütersloh in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of the same name .

The municipality of Kattenstroth-Spexard was south of the city of Gütersloh and northeast of the district town of Wiedenbrück .

Neighboring communities were Gütersloh, the rural community of Gütersloh (Amt Gütersloh), Avenwedde (Amt Reckenberg), Verl ( Amt Verl ), Varensell ( Amt Rietberg ), Lintel (Amt Reckenberg) and Nordrheda-Ems (Amt Rheda).

history

The municipality of Kattenstroth-Spexard was newly formed on December 10, 1888 by being separated from the municipality of Avenwedde . On April 1, 1910, they ceded the Kattenstroth (9.52 km 2 ) farmers to the city of Gütersloh. The rest of the municipality (13.25 km 2 ) was named Spexard .
