In the intermediate examination , the trainee works on written examination tasks in a maximum of 180 minutes from the following areas:

The final examination takes place in four examination areas:

Production and service organization testing area

In this examination area, the trainee works on three complex, practice-related tasks in writing. In these tasks, he shows that he understands technical contexts, independently plan, coordinate and carry out work processes, analyze facts and, taking into account criteria of commercial management and control as well as legal framework conditions, can develop and present possible solutions.

Examination area Marketing

Here, too, the trainee works on practical tasks or cases in writing in 90 minutes. He shows that he understands technical interrelationships, independently plan, coordinate and carry out work processes, analyze circumstances and, taking into account criteria of commercial management and control, develop and present possible solutions in a market and customer-oriented manner. The following areas are particularly suitable for this:

a) Marketing conception and project organization,
b) Advertising and public relations.

Examination area economics and social studies

In this examination area, the trainee shows that he can work on practical tasks or cases from the world of work and can present and assess economic and social relationships in the world of work and work. The exam is also written and takes a maximum of 90 minutes.

Exam area practical exercises

The examination board gives the trainee two tasks to choose from and must decide on one. The task comes from the areas of products and services or sales and communication. He can now prepare for the exam in 20 minutes and then conduct the technical discussion lasting a maximum of 20 minutes. The focus of the technical discussion is on operational relationships, the operational range of services, industry-specific problems and the systematic preparation for discussions.

Oral supplementary examination

If the trainee has achieved “unsatisfactory” in up to two examination areas in the written examination and at least “sufficient” in the remaining examination areas, he / she can take the written examination in one of the examination areas assessed as “unsatisfactory” with an oral examination lasting around 15 minutes complete. This is only possible if he can thereby pass the exam. A supplementary examination to improve grades is not possible.

Passage regulation

In order to pass the final examination, at least sufficient examination results must be achieved in the overall result and in three of the four examination areas. If the trainee has achieved an “unsatisfactory” in one or more examination areas, the examination is not passed.
