Merchant house

The merchant's house, is a retail and office complex in the Hamburg district of Neustadt . It stands between the streets Große Bleichen , Bleichenfleet and Neuer Wall . The address is Große Bleichen 31. In 2017 the Austrian Signa Holding acquired the merchant's house and the Alsterarkaden .

The merchant's house was built between 1906 and 1907 according to plans by Stammann & Zinnow . From 1976 to 1978 the building was converted by Graaf, Schweger & Partner . In the period from 2011 to 2013, plans by the American architecture firm Moed de Armas & Shannon formed the basis for modernization and redesign measures that were carried out on the merchant's house.

Light, glazed clinker bricks and glass elements characterize the facade of the building. The merchant's house has more than 23,000 square meters of commercial space on four floors and a basement .

use

The lower floors of the building are used by various shops, particularly in the clothing industry. On the upper floors are u. a. the Hamburg offices of the global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright and the internet portal Yelp .
