The Caucasian scorpionfish ( Dracocephalum botryoides ) is a species of scorpionfish ( Dracocephalum ) in the mint family (Lamiaceae).

description

The Caucasian scorpionfish is an evergreen dwarf shrub that reaches heights of between 5 and 15 centimeters. The leaves are up to 2 centimeters long, their underside is felty. The sections of the leaves are elongated, their tips are blunt. The crown is 9 to 12 millimeters long. The anthers are bare.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 12.

distribution

The species occurs in the Caucasus on stony slopes and on river banks at altitudes of 2300 to 2500 meters.

Systematics

Dracocephalum botryoides was in 1812 by Christian von Steven in Mémoires de la Société Impériale of Naturalistes de Moscou , Volume 3, page 266 firstdescribed . Synonyms for Dracocephalum botryoides Steven are Ruyschiana botryoides ( Steven ) House and Nepeta pinnatifida Fisch.
