Kauppis-Heikki (born June 7, 1862 in Iisalmi as Heikki Kauppinen , † September 3, 1920 Lapinlahti ) was a Finnish writer.

Life

Kauppis-Heikki worked as a farmhand in his youth. In the house of Provost Henrik Gustaf Theodor Brofeldt , he met his son Juhani, who later became known as a writer under the name Juhani Aho . This promoted him as well as later Minna Canth , and with him and his brothers he had a lifelong friendship. After acquiring the necessary education, he worked as a traveling teacher, director of a reformatory, and elementary school teacher.

In addition to their sons, Juhani Aho and Minna Canth, Kauppis-Heikki was one of the group of art-interested people who gathered around Elisabeth Järnefelt . He wrote mostly dark novels as well as humorous short stories about the people of his home region.
