Aguri Shimizu ( Japanese 清水 亜 久 里 , Shimizu Aguri ; born March 9, 1992 in Myōkō , Niigata Prefecture ) is a Japanese Nordic combiner .

Career

World cup

Aguri Shimizu made his debut on January 10, 2009 in the 2008/09 season in the Nordic Combined World Cup and achieved 50th place at the mass start in Val di Fiemme . Seven years later, on February 27, 2016, he was able to collect World Cup points for the first time. In Val di Fiemme Shimizu finished 29th and collected two World Cup points. He collected a total of 18 points in the winter of 2015/16 and thus finished 43rd in the overall World Cup.

Grand Prix

In the Grand Prix Nordic Combined Aguri Shimizu debuted in the summer of 2016 and finished together with Hideaki Nagai in Oberwiesenthal eleventh place. In his first individual competition in the Summer World Cup, he finished 21st in Oberwiesenthal. In summer 2016 he collected a total of 18 points and finished 33rd in the overall ranking.

Universiade

He took part in the Winter Universiade in Erzurum in 2011 and competed in Gunderson, mass start and team competition. In the Gunderson competition he took eighth place and in the team he reached fifth place with Shun Yamamoto and Keita Katagiri. On January 30, 2011 he won the mass start competition in front of the Poles Tomasz Pochwała and the Swiss Tommy Schmid .

He also took part in the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino and competed in all three competitions. In the team competition he took third place in the team competition with Gō Yamamoto and Shota Horigome. In the Gunderson competition, he also achieved third place. He was able to defend his gold medal in the mass start and won ahead of the two Poles Adam Cieślar and Paweł Słowiok .

At the first part of the Winter Universiade 2015 in Štrbské Pleso and took second place with his team members Gō Yamamoto and Takehiro Watanabe . In the mass start competition, he took tenth place. He didn't start in the Gunderson competition.
