Gō Yamamoto ( Japanese 山 元 豪 , Yamamoto Gō ; * January 27, 1995 in Toyama Prefecture ) is a Japanese Nordic combined .
Career
Yamamoto first took part in international races in 2012. The Youth Olympic Winter Games in 2012 in the Austrian Innsbruck he won the Gundersen competition the bronze medal. Two months later he made his debut in the Continental Cup of Nordic Combined at a competition in Predazzo , in which he finished 30th. In the 2016/17 season he achieved his only victory in this competition series in Klingenthal .
He competed several times in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships . He won his only medal in 2013 in Liberec in a team competition with Go Sonehara , Shota Horigome and Takehiro Watanabe .
On December 5, 2015, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway . His best result so far in the World Cup was a 23rd place in a Gundersen competition on the large hill, which took place on November 26, 2017 in Kuusamo . On November 25, 2018, he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup in second place in a team competition at the same place together with Yoshito Watabe , Hideaki Nagai and Akito Watabe .
