Kauslund ( Danish : Kavslund ) is the name of a small town that, as part of Twedt , was incorporated into Flensburg and is now part of the Engelsby district. There the small town is to the east on federal highway 199 .

The street names Kauslunder Straße, Kauslunder Winkel, Kauslundhof and Kauslundlücke now help to locate Kauslund. The Wasserloos street , which today is overgrown with Kauslund, is located near Kauslund. To the west is the neighboring star district .

history

The small town was first mentioned in 1634. The place name "Kauslund" means "bush forest". The next real forest, at least nowadays, is the Weesrieser wood near the nearby Wees . In 1825 16 people lived in Kauslund. In the 1880s, the route of the Flensburg circular railway was built , which also stopped at Kauslund.

In 1906 the small village consisted of the station for the circular orbit, an inn and three camp sites. In 1910 Kauslund was incorporated as part of Twedt. In the same year the Kauslunder Straße was named.

Between 1925 and 1934, the Flensburg tram also ran on the route of the Kreisbahn . In the time after that, only the circular path drove on the route again. In 1953 the circular path was closed. The route was built over by the federal highway 199 .

At the beginning of the 2000s, a large number of single-family houses were built near Kauslund, including to the west, south and east of the street Wasserloos, which means that Kauslund expanded considerably.

The Kauslund-Osterfeld, which was built around 2002, consists of the following streets: Ina-Carstensen-Straße , Marie-Rasch-Straße , Greta-Korn-Straße , Anna-Hansen-Straße , Christine-Christiansen-Straße and Käte-Petersen-Weg . In addition, the Am Osterfeld hiking trail leads east of Osterfeld from Kauslunder Straße to Osterholzer Weg .

A small industrial park also developed over time. One of the city's recycling yards is located near today's industrial park.
