The Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH is a German manufacturer of extrusion blow molding machines and a world leader in the manufacture of equipment for the fuel tank production. In addition to the automotive segment, Kautex Maschinenbau technology is used in the areas of consumer packaging, industrial packaging and special applications.

Most of the machines produced in the main plant in Bonn are exported; the export quota was around 80% in the 2015 financial year. In addition to the main plant, Kautex Maschinenbau also operates a plant in Shunde in southern China .

Company structure and key figures

In addition to the head office in Bonn (approx. 410 employees), the customer center in Berlin and the plant in South China (approx. 110 employees), there are branches in the USA, North China, Russia, India and Italy. In addition, Kautex Maschinenbau is represented by trading partners in 83 countries around the world. The turnover in 2015 was 110 million euros.

history

The company is a spin-off of the former Kautex Werke (today Kautex Textron ) and was founded in 1976 as Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH and transferred to Fried in 1977 . Krupp ( Krupp Kautex Maschinenbau ) sold. It goes back to a predecessor company founded by Reinold Hagen in 1935.

In 1980 the name was changed to Krupp Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH. In 1988 Krupp transferred its shares to Krupp Maschinentechnik GmbH. In 1995 Shunde Krupp Chen Plastics Technology Co., Ltd. was founded. (China) as a joint venture.

In 2000 the company was sold to the Swiss SIG Holding AG and the company was renamed SIG Blowtec GmbH. In 2002 the company was renamed SIG Kautex GmbH & Co. KG. 2003 was the establishment of a branch in Italy (Olgiate Olona). In 2004 the shares were transferred to ADCURAM Beteiligungs AG and the name was changed to Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH.

Shunde Kautex became a wholly owned Kautex subsidiary in 2005. In 2007 there was a management buy-out with Steadfast Capital (Frankfurt am Main). In 2013 there was a second management buy-out with a majority holding by management. Steadfast was replaced by the new main shareholder Capiton AG (Berlin); there was an initial participation of employees in equity. 2013 saw the inauguration of the new plant in Shunde, China, and the opening of a sales office in Bangalore, India.
