Previous model Kawasaki ER-6f

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is the successor to the Kawasaki ER-6f . It is technically identical to the Kawasaki Z 650 which replaces the sister model ER-6n , which brings the end of the ER-6 series with it. In contrast to the typical "Ninja" models of the ZX-R series , the Ninja 650 is not equipped with a 4, but a 2-cylinder engine. It has a newly developed tubular space frame that weighs only 15 kg.

The engine has been revised and now complies with the Euro 4 emissions standard, which reduced the output to 68 hp. The torque in the low and medium speed range is said to have been optimized for the benefit of driving behavior. The design is based more on the ZX-10 R Ninja and should contribute to better differentiation from the Z 650. Due to the design as a 2-cylinder and the relatively low power as well as the low seat height of 790 mm, the Ninja 650 can be described as an entry-level motorcycle alongside the Ninja 300.

A new addition is the gear selection display already integrated as standard in the instrument cluster and a so-called shift light . ABS is also standard. The tank capacity is 15 l and the chassis on the rear axle is designed as a horizontal back-link suspension.
