Kay Stammers Menzies Bullitt (born April 3, 1914 in St Albans , England , † December 23, 2005 in Louisville , Kentucky , United States ) was a British tennis player and Wimbledon winner.

Life

At the age of 17, she played her first Wimbledon tournament in 1931 . In 1935 and 1936 she won the women's doubles at Wimbledon together with Freda James . She was in the women's final in 1939, but lost to the American Alice Marble . She reached second place in the world rankings for women by World War II . Her tennis career ended with the Second World War.

In 1940 she married the businessman Michael Menzies and had a daughter Hoare and sons Freddie and Mark. After the divorce in 1974, she married the American lawyer Thomas Walker Bullitt the following year and then lived with her husband on his farm in Kentucky until her death.

She died on her farm at the age of 91 after a brief illness.
