The Kay Peak is a 760 m high and pyramid-shaped sub-peak of the Mount Murphy massif in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises near the end of the large rock spur in the northwest of the massif.
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy in the years from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 by Lieutenant Commander William Kay of the US Navy, director of a unit of Seabees on the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Operation Deep Freeze in 1973.
