Kay Knight (* 1971 in Wurzen ) is a German politician of the CDU . In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he entered the state parliament as a direct candidate.

education and profession

Kay Ritter was born as the son of former Silesian expellees in Wurzen, where he grew up. After graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for machine tools at the Wurzen engine works. After the company became insolvent, Ritter worked in a machine factory in Warstein for three years . After reunification, he completed an apprenticeship as a gas and water plumber and obtained his secondary school diploma. This was followed by a dual course of study, which he completed as a business economist. At the turn of the millennium, he finally focused on politics in order to get involved in his home region.

Ritter became an employee of the state parliament member Werner Hubrich , who was previously district administrator of the former Wurzen district . Then he was the office manager of the Leipzig state parliament member Jutta Schmidt . After the state elections in 2009 , he took over this position at MP Hannelore Dietzschold .

In the election for the Saxon state parliament in 2019, Ritter won the direct mandate in the constituency of Leipziger Land 4 with 32.2% of the votes and thus moved into the Dresden state parliament.

Ritter is also a member of the district council of the district of North Saxony , deputy chairman of the CDU district of Leipzig and of Wurzen's city council. He is also a member of the board of directors of Wärmeversorgung Wurzen GmbH and several development associations in his hometown.

Personal

Ritter is married and has two children. The family lives in his hometown Wurzen. Ritter has been active in the club for many years.
