Kaya Güvenç

Kaya Güvenç (born May 5, 1945 in Osmaniye ) is a Turkish politician , engineer and author .

Life

Güvenç was born to the housewife Fatma and Osmaniyes mayor Abdurrezak Güvenç. He attended the Ataturk Elementary School in Osmaniye and the Saint Joseph Fransız Lisesi private high school in Istanbul. At the Faculty INSA Lyon , he completed a mechanical engineering degree as a mechanical engineer from.

Güvenç has worked in various committees of the Chamber of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) and the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers; here he was a member of the board. Between 1976 and 1978 he was Secretary General, Board Member and Honorary Member of TMMOB. From 2000 to 2004 he was chairman of the Chamber of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB).

During his tenure as chairman of the board, he was a member of the committee established to end the hunger strikes in 2000. He became the spokesman for the Emek Platformu working platform founded by 15 unions, associations and professional organizations after 2001 . He organized the Labor Policy Symposium and ensured the publication of the symposium in TMMOB publications.

During the period of the military coup in Turkey in 1971 , he was sentenced to ten years imprisonment in the trial for the magazine Aydınlık Sosyalist Dergisi and released after two years. After the end of his mission in TMMOB he worked for the Patriotic Front Yurtsever Cephe , the Left Front Sol Cephe , the Barış Derneği Peace Association and the United June Movement Birleşik Haziran Hareketi .

In the 2007 parliamentary elections he was the candidate of the Communist Party of Turkey in Adana and in the 2011 parliamentary elections in Ankara . In the mayoral elections in Ankara in 2014, he was a joint candidate for the various left-wing parties.

Güvenç wrote for the magazine Yeni Ülke , which Vahap Erdoğdu published for two years. He is a member of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP).

Güvenç has been married to Serpil Güvenç since 1974 and has two children.
