Kayanza is a city in the north of Burundi . It is the capital of the Kayanza Province .
geography
The city is located in the northern part of the province and is at an altitude of 1957 meters above sea level at a distance of about 53 km northeast of Bujumbura , the capital of the country.
The city is divided into nine parishes, one of which is called Kayanza.

A 2008 census counted 21,767 residents. It is one of the areas with higher population density.
