KazMunayGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) ( Russian Разведка Добыча КазМунайГаз , Kazakh ҚазМұнайГаз Барлау Өндіру ) is a company from Kazakhstan with headquarters in Nur-Sultan . It is a subsidiary of the Kazakh national oil and gas company, KazMunayGas . KazMunayGas EP is the largest publicly traded company in Kazakhstan.
In 2017, the company's oil production was 11.9 million tons of crude oil.
history
KazMunayGas Exploration Production was created in 2004 through the merger of Uzenmunaigas and Embamunaigas . Two years later, in 2006, the company was listed on the Kazakh Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange .
In April 2007, KazMunayGas EP acquired 50 percent of the Kazakh oil company Kazgermunai. In December of the same year they bought another 50 percent of Karazhanbasmunai, also a mineral oil company from Kazakhstan. In 2008 a memorandum of cooperation on future projects was signed with the British BG Group .
In December 2009, the company acquired 100 percent of KazMunayGas PKI Finance BV for 100.5 million US dollars . As a result, KazMunayGas EP also acquired 33 percent of the shares in the Canadian company PetroKazakhstan.
At the end of September 2010 it was announced that the two companies Eastern Gate Management Ltd. and Halyk Komir LLP has agreed to take over their two subsidiaries LLP NBK and LLP SapaBarlauService for a total of 65 million US dollars . This move is intended to increase KazMunayGas Exploration Production's oil production.
