Location and surroundings
Below the summit are the two mountain lakes Czarny Staw pod Rysami and Meerauge in the Dolina Rybiego Potoku valley .
Flora and fauna
Despite its height, the Mengsdorfer Kanzel has a colorful flora and fauna. Numerous plant species occur, especially high alpine flowers and grasses. In addition to insects and mollusks and birds of prey, marmots and chamois also visit the summit.

The ascent is difficult and secured with a chain. The Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem mountain hut is a suitable starting point for an ascent from the valleys.
