from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kazimir Hnatov . Also Casimir Hnatow (* 9. January 1929 in Crusnes , Meurthe-et-Moselle , † 16th December 2010 in Vouillé (Deux-Sevres) ) was a French footballer .

In the club

The connector began his professional career in 1951 - as a 22-year-old, so relatively late - at FC Metz in Lorraine , where he quickly developed into a regular player and finished his debut season on a respectable 5th place in the top division . In 1953 he moved to the capital club Stade Français , which surprisingly had to relegate to the 2nd division at the end of the season . Kazimir Hnatow stayed with Stade Français, who transferred him to the first division club SCO Angers in 1956 after two failed attempts at promotion.

In the following seven years he completed over 240 league games for the SCO, spared from major injuries. It was not enough to win the championship or Coupe de France , but in 1957 he was in the cup final with his team, in which Angers lost 3: 6 to Toulouse FC , and in 1958 his club finished the season in fourth place, so that he was allowed to travel with the national team to the World Cup in Sweden (see below ) . In 1962 he reached the semi-finals again in the cup. A year later, Kazimir Hnatow went to the amateur club Chamois Niort , where he tied his football boots as a player- coach until 1966 . In the 1972/73 season he worked there again as an assistant coach. What has become of him afterwards has not yet been determined.

In the national team

Kazimir Hnatow played in the French amateur and the B national team , but never made it to an A international match: although he was quite dangerous for a goal scorer, he could not dispute this position, especially Armand Penverne . Like his long-time club mate Stéphane Bruey , he was part of the 1958 World Cup squad , but was not used at the finals in Sweden .
