Kazuko Sugiyama

Kazuko Sugiyama ( Japanese 杉山 佳 寿 子 , Sugiyama Kazuko ; born April 9, 1947 in Nagoya as Kazuko Shibukawa ( 渋 川 佳 寿 子 , Shibukawa Kazuko )) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) who works for the Aoni Production agency .

Career

Kazuko Sugiyama attended Ichimura Gakuen Commercial Girls High School in Nagoya (today: Ichimura High School of Keizai University, Nagoya ). After having been part of the children's drama troupe at NHK Nagoya since she was in elementary school , she became a member of the Theater Echo troupe in Shibuya , Tokyo, after graduating from high school .

In 1967 she had her voice acting debut in the anime series Bōken Gahoten-jima with the larger role of the character Tomato. In 1970 she spoke the protagonist Mako in the series Mahō no Mako-chan , which was also translated into various European languages. However, she had her best-known role as Heidi in the series of the same name from 1974 to 1979.

Other well-known larger roles were Jun in the series Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman (1972–1980), 003 in Cyborg 009 (1979–1980), Akane Kimidori in Dr. Slump (1981–1986), Ganmo in Gu-Gu Ganmo (1984–1985), Korosuke in Kiteretsu Daihyakka (1990–1996), Rui Ijigawa in Magical Taluluto (1990–1992) and Matsuo Namikawa in Yattokame Tanteidan (2007–2008) . She is also the voice of Bomberman in the Bomberman series .

In 2010 she received a prize for her achievements at the 4th Seiyū Award .

Sugiyama is also a lecturer at the Osaka Art School .
