Bomberman (on some platforms Dynablaster or Dyna Blaster ) is a labyrinth-like structured computer game , which was originally by Hudson Soft has been developed. Since the takeover of Hudson by Konami , the rights have been owned by Konami. The aim of the game is to overcome all obstacles and opponents by cleverly placing bombs.

Gameplay

In the classic variant, the playing field consists of an arrangement of destructible and indestructible walls. By placing bombs, more and more areas of the playing field can be opened up. Bonus items are hidden behind some walls. The most important ones, which appear in almost every version, are the bomb , with it the player has the opportunity to plant an additional bomb at the same time (maximum 8). A flame increases the range of a bomb by one space. There are also so-called mega-bombs, mines or remote-controlled bombs. In some versions there is a glove as a power-up that enables Bomberman to pick up and throw bombs. Depending on the version, you can push bombs to the nearest wall either with a boxing glove or with a foot (bomb kick item).

The explosion is represented by jets of fire in all four directions of two-dimensional space and causes other bombs (if they can be reached by the explosive force) to detonate immediately, which enables and requires certain tactics. In most versions of the game, the player must go to the exit within a certain time. This is hidden within the destructible walls. It can only be entered after all enemies have been destroyed.

A popular game mode of Bomberman is also the multiplayer mode , in which all players must be defeated.

An important exception to this gameplay are the Jump 'n' Run Bomberman Hero for the N64 and other offshoots such as the racing game Bomberman Fantasy Race or the mini-game collection Bomberman Land .
