Kazushige Kirihata ( Japanese 桐 畑 和 繁 , Kirihata Kazushige ; born June 30, 1987 in Kofu , Yamanashi Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Kazushige Kirihata learned to play football in the youth team of Kashiwa Reysol . It was here that he signed his first professional contract in 2006. The club from Kashiwa , a city in Chiba Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan , played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . In 2006 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 and rose to the top division. In 2008 he was with Kashiwa in the final of the Emperor's Cup , which they lost 1-0 to Gamba Osaka . At the end of 2009 he had to go back to the second division. In 2010 he became champion with the club and went straight back to the top division. In 2011 he celebrated the Japanese soccer championship as a promoted player. In 2012 he reached the final in the Emperor's Cup with Kashiwa again. Here they defeated Gamba Osaka 1-0. A year later he was in the final of the J. League Cup , which they won 1-0 against the Urawa Red Diamonds . In 2018 he was relegated to the second division again.
