Lists on the subject

The kbk wz. 88 Tantal (Polish: Karabinek wzór 88 , in German: Karabiner Modell 1988 ), the trade name is Tantal, is basically a Polish version of the AKS-74 with few changes in detail. Only one version with a foldable shoulder rest is produced. The rifle is currently in service in Poland , but is also offered for export .

technology

The tantalum is a gas charger with a long gas piston, without gas regulation and with a screw cap. The gas piston and the gas outlet are located above the barrel. The number of trains is 4, the twist length 196 mm.

The fire selector switch is attached to the right of the housing, although it is a bit smaller than its predecessor. The switch allows the settings safe, single and continuous fire. To the left of the housing, above the trigger, there is a switch that allows the settings for automatic fire or 3-shot automatic. Between the trigger and the magazine is the release lever for the magazine. The clamping lever is also on the right-hand side above the selection lever and the ejection opening above. The lock housing is made entirely of stamped steel , while all other parts are milled or turned. The shoulder rest can be folded in on the right side and consists of a steel frame, the handguard and the pistol grip are made of black plastic. When not in use, the folding sight serves as an adjustable rear sight , but a reflex sight with a red dot and / or a night target telescope are also available. The latter are attached to a rail, which in turn is attached to the lock housing with the help of two lateral metal straps. Rifle grenades can be placed on the flash hider , but there is also a grenade device that can be attached under the barrel. A bayonet can also be mounted and a clampable bipod is optionally available.

variants

Skbk wz.89 onyks
Kbs wz. 96 Beryl
  • Skbk wz. 89 Onyks : The onyks are often referred to as MP because they are roughly the same length. Due to the caliber and the cartridge used, it can be classified as a short assault rifle. It was developed on the basis of tantalum and uses the same technology. Therefore it can also be called the short version of the wzor 88.
  • Kbs wz. 96 Beryl : The Beryl is a tantalum which is designed for the NATO cartridge 5.56 × 45 mm . The number of trains here is 6, the twist length is 228 mm, making the barrel suitable for both the new SS109 and M193 cartridges.
  • Mini-Beryl : The Mini-Beryl is a considerably shorter version of the Beryl. Often referred to as a submachine gun , it is a short rifle due to the 5.56mm ammunition used .
