kebab
Kebab (also: Kebap ; Turkish for "grilled or fried meat" from synonymous Persian and Arabic كَباب kabāb ) is used to denote:
- Veal cut into rectangular pieces and grilled (originally)
- in German as a short name for doner kebab
various North African and oriental meat dishes (also Kabab , Kabob ):
- İskender Kebap , a variant of the doner kebab
- Adana Kebap , a minced meat dish from the Turkish city of Adana
- Şiş Kebap ( Schisch Kebab ), a traditional grill skewer used in Turkish and Arabic cuisine made from marinated lamb, tomatoes and peppers
- Chelo Kabab , the national dish of Iran with marinated lamb grilled on a spit
- Djudsche Kabāb , Persian chicken skewer
