Iskender kebab
Iskender kebab and Turkish İskender kebap , even Bursa Kebab , Hacıbey kebab , Uludağ Kebap or Yoğurtlu Kebap called, is a meat dish of Turkish cuisine and provides a variant of kebab is kebab. When İskender kebap the most is rotisserie grilled and thinly cut veal or lamb served with flatbread , yogurt , grilled peppers, tomatoes and melted butter .
The dish is named after its inventor, İskender Efendi , who lived in Bursa in the late 19th century . Today his descendants run a chain of restaurants based in Bursa, which in addition to the obligatory Turkish appetizers ( meze ) only offer the original Kebapçı İskender , which has since been registered as a trademark .
Iskender Kebap is now standard in most Turkish restaurants. It is not served as a snack , but as a dish . Common side dishes are bulgur and salad . Traditionally, grape must (Şıra) or Ayran is drunk with it.
