Kebab (also: Kebap ; Turkish for "grilled or fried meat" from synonymous Persian and Arabic كَباب kabāb ) is used to denote:

  • Veal cut into rectangular pieces and grilled (originally)
  • in German as a short name for doner kebab

various North African and oriental meat dishes (also Kabab , Kabob ):

  • İskender Kebap , a variant of the doner kebab
  • Adana Kebap , a minced meat dish from the Turkish city of Adana
  • Şiş Kebap ( Schisch Kebab ), a traditional grill skewer used in Turkish and Arabic cuisine made from marinated lamb, tomatoes and peppers
  • Chelo Kabab , the national dish of Iran with marinated lamb grilled on a spit
  • Djudsche Kabāb , Persian chicken skewer
