Kechi is a suburb of Wichita in the US state of Kansas in Sedgwick County . Kechi has 1038 inhabitants and an area of 3.4 km² . The population density is 303.6 inhabitants per km².
history
In the 19th century, Indians lived in what is now the city. There it was still called Kichai. Kichai was also a resting place for cowboys. In 1900 Kechi had a dairy, a post office, a hotel, a school, a blacksmith's shop, a church, a shoe shop, a train depot and a mill. In 1906 Kechi had the first medical practice.
