Kei Cozzolino (born November 9, 1987 in Ichigaya , Japan ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career

Cozzolino was born in Japan and grew up in Japan. He made his first motorsport experience in Japanese kart racing in 1999 . In 2007 he switched to formula racing . He started in the Japanese Formula Challenge and finished ninth overall with one win. In 2008 Cozzolino switched to the Japanese Formula 3 championship . He achieved four podium finishes and finished the season on the sixth championship course. 2009 Cozzolino stayed in the Japanese Formula 3 championship. With one win and a total of six podium finishes, he reached fourth place in the drivers' championship. In 2010 Cozzolino switched to Formula Nippon and was given a cockpit with Team LeMans . With a fourth place as the best result, he finished the season in tenth place in the drivers' standings. At the non-championship Fuji Sprint Cup , he achieved pole position .

After a break of almost two years, Cozzolino returned to motorsport at the end of 2012 and made his debut in touring car racing . For ROAL Motorsport he took part in the season finale of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) on the Guia Circuit . He replaced his compatriot Alberto Cerqui .
