history
The name of the district is derived from its location east of the district of Keilor ; this in turn is said to have descended from cattle breeding or a stream in Scotland . The Keilor East post office opened in 1947. Until 1994, the district was part of the LGA City of Keilor . Today the eastern part belongs to the City of Moonee Valley , the western part to the City of Brimbank .
